Congratulations to you if you have had your presentation proposal accepted for the exciting Global Education Conference 2013. The world can now be your audience! Following are some tips to get athe maximum number of participants to attend your session.
- Make sure you have a ‘hook’ for people to “want” to attend your session
- Give a session description that is engaging and motivating for others to attend. Edit it if necessary.
- Encourage comments back on your session proposal. Add questions to encourage conversations.
- Tag your session description appropriately to target the appropriate audience
- Add an image to your profile
- Share your blog url or your online space web address, so people can read more about you.
- Push your session out there to as many networks as possible - twitter, facebook, emailing lists and other social media. Share the link to your discussion. If you tweet it, others may retweet for you.
- Add the hashtag #globaled13 especially when using twitter
- Use the chat actively on the global education site, let others know what you are presenting. Add a reminder 30 mins before you start the session in the chat.
- Make friends on the Global Education Conference site, share in other discussions, get your name out there. Form a group around your chosen topic.
Attendance at sessions is always an unknown and there is no guarantee how many will attend. However, presenters can be proud of the fact that they are indeed presenting to the globe, sharing some amazing connections/stories and that their sessions are recorded and archived for others to listen to after the event. Few people can say that they have been a global presenter, but you can!
What are your tips for generating maximum participation in sessions? Please share!

Hi Anne,
Great hints to grab the attention. Especially I love the sentence" Push your session out there to as many networks as possible - twitter, facebook, emailing lists and other social media. Share the link to your discussion". It is easy to connect right away to whoever you are interested in, and to whichever topic matters the most to you. I think that it is also interesting to highlight strong points that come out of the discussions, so other participants share about them, and may come up with great ideas as well. (sometimes great ideas come out of the audience after the presenter announces the topic and the main findings).
Thank you for these great tips!
