I know you have them: the parents who want you to explain to them why they should allow technology in their homes at all. They're the ones that believe there are no redeeming qualities to the activities in which children engage at home (like IM, My Space, Club Penguin). They want to know why they SHOULD let them participate, when there are so many negative influences there. My stock answer cites the changing shape of the world, and of communication for children. Not allowing them to participate stunts their growth, in a way. My other answer includes some stories about how children have found a way to do it at other people's homes, so better to be informed and in control in their own homes. Are there some other answers out there you all are giving?
