We have starteed the project again this year with Our 6th grade students. They will be working in six week rotations(the second one starts on Monday) on a multimedia project which has focused their attention on global issues. This is a collaborative project. The project requires that students have: researched global issues, collaboratively written a group rap song (based on one issue) using Google Docs, performed Google Advanced searches for Creative Commons licensed media, “Blabberized” images so as to create speaking avatars,videod themselves as performers, mixed musical loops and recorded their raps using GarageBand, edited and dubbed thjeir videos in iMovie and uploaded their work, including a reflection to the project Wiki.
We are interested in teaming up with other schools to co-author rap lyrics and possibly exchange performance footage, as well as add to the collection of projects on the wiki. If you are interested in working on even a section of the project,

Our school worked on this project last year and the students learned and experienced a great deal.the project addresses many standards through engaging web 2.0, collaboration and research skills.
