Papua New Guinean university student at the only Technological University of the country, the Papua New Guinea University of Technology (Unitech) has a diverse culture. This cultural influence is affecting student's learning in engineering courses at the Department of Civil Engineering. According to Betasolo’s study (2014) tells that student wanted to maintain self-concept and self-efficacy that makes it hard for them to accept teachers lecturing. They desire to get the full aspects of productive pedagogies. Furthermore, Betasolo identifies a culture-educational paradigm shift framework, a pedagogical approach that can cater both the rich culture of students and the educational behavior requirement for civil engineers consisting of the following: critical thinkers, real-life problem solvers about infrastructure and economic development. A pedagogical approach to delivering content-rich lessons in civil engineering courses that support the culture-educational paradigm shift framework, is presented in this session.
