- The search feature in our online community seems to be working. When we upgraded our platform, it stopped functioning and the problem now seems to be rectified. You can use the search box in the upper lefthand corner of our main site to find content from our global ed community. You can also use the member search to find others with similar interests or specific locations (click on Advanced Search). Register for free and join our community in order to access these features.
- The new Portal Schools network in Los Angeles is a competency-based education model that provided personalized, real-world learning experiences for high school students. These micro-schools are embedded on corporate campuses and students have the opportunity to graduate in five years with both a high school diploma and an associate’s degree. On Friday, June 3, don buckley interviewed Ivan Cestero, Director of Strategic Partnership at Portal Schools. Watch our recording and learn more about this innovative school model.

- World Savvy is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Check out their program summit taking place in Minneapolis!
- iEARN-USA is hosting an online summer institute. This professional development experience will take place July 18-21 and the theme is "How to Become a Global Educator".

Lucy Gray will interview Canadian Leigh Cassell about her work as a teacher and as an entrepreneur. We will learn more about the Digital Human Library and Leigh’s other projects that support globally connected teaching and learning.

The topic will be SEL (social-emotional learning) and global education. We will be participating along with Heather Singmaster of the Asia Society, Emily Puzzo Hopkins of Meg Global Ed, and Donavan Dreyer of Get Ready Coaching. A simultaneous discussion will be led by Meg’s Lottie Dowling on Twitter Spaces.

On June 24th, we will welcome Heather Singmaster as our featured guest. Heather Singmaster is Director for CTE and GCEN, Center for Global Education at the Asia Society where her work focuses on international best practices and integrating global competence into Career Technical Education (CTE) programs as well as state and national policy. Heather leads the Global Cities Education Network (GCEN), a network of international cities focused on best practice sharing in education.
