Announcing Global Leadership Week 2017: April 24 - 28

We are thrilled and excited to announce that the second annual Global Leadership Week celebration will take place at the end of April! We invite you to join this global celebration!

Global Leadership Week (GLW) is a weeklong convening of virtual and face to face events designed to celebrate leadership through global action in K-12 education. GLW is an opportunity for education leaders to learn from one another and share active principles in leadership, particularly within the context of an interconnected, global age. GLW is one of the several events hosted by the Global Education Conference Network and currently is sponsored by Participate and the Institute of International Education.

Our general goals are to elevate and broaden the global education dialogue and to focus attention on the urgent need to develop global awareness and competency in students and teachers. We plan to provide resources and inspiration for teacher leaders, school leaders, district leaders and state/national leaders to further develop global goals within systems.

During Global Leadership Week, partner organizations, companies, school districts and individual schools will design and host their virtual events to showcase thought leadership. These events will be listed on a GLW calendar posted to our website. All are welcome to participate!

The Global Education Conference Network will host two flagship events itself during this week. One gathering will be an exclusive face-to-face international networking Global Education Summit at the Institute of International Education in New York City and the other will be the Global Education Fair, a virtual event that will allow educators to learn more about the work of leading global education groups. These events will be streamed and recorded for public consumption. The Global Leadership Summit is an invite-only event as space is limited. The Global Education Fair is free to attendees, and nominal fees are charged to non-profit and for-profit presenting groups to cover event costs.

Below you will find additional details. We hope that you will join us and actively participate in Global Leadership Week!
