Here's a quick list of recent posts and events that you may be interested in. Please save this information for future reference!
We're starting to ramp up for the 2013 Global Education Summit at the International Society for Technology for Education conference in June and for our official, signature event, the Global Education Conference in November. The Summit in June is a face to face, in person event for those who happen to be at the ISTE Conference; the November conference is entirely online.
Here is how you can participate at this point:
- If you are planning on attending the ISTE conference in San Antonio, Texas, please consider joining our planning group: http://www.globaleducationconference.com/group/gec-summit-at-iste. This event will take place Sunday, June 23rd, time TBD.
- If you are interested in serving on the advisory board for the 2013 Global Education Conference, our online event, join this group: http://www.globaleducationconference.com/group/advisoryboard2013 .
- Advisory board meetings will probably start in May.
- The Call for Proposals for the online conference will open in June or July.
- For profit participation is also being sought. If you are interested in financially supporting this event and spreading the word about your brand, please email my co-chair, Steve Hargadon, at steve@hargadon.com.
This month, we are also holding weekly drop in sessions called Share and Tel using Google Hangouts on AIr. The purpose of these meetings are to plan for the upcoming summit and to share globally collaborative projects and resources. This is not an opportunity for presenting general education resources; please demonstrate how your work impacts global collaboration.
- Our first Hangout on Air will be tonight at 8 PM CDT (UTC-5). Please use http://timeanddate.com to do any time zone conversion. The Google+ invite for this event is located at: http://goo.gl/RBmG6.
- Please note that you need to input your information into this linked spreadsheet if you want to be IN the Google Hangout. This is so that we can be efficient with our time.
- Other Share and Tell events will take place on April 11, April 18, and April 22.
