Area of the World from Which You Will Present: Montana, USA

Language in Which You Will Present: English

Target Audience(s): school teachers

Short Session Description (one line): We often think of assistive technology as high level, advanced tech - but there are advantages for our students even at a much more rudimentary level

Full Session Description (as long as you would like): I will present ideas I researched after spending some time in Mbale, Uganda last December. My goal was to establish connection with a local agency (Elgon Childwatch Initiatives-Uganda) focused on child protection. I brought a focus on supporting children with disabilities. We are still working jointly to help identified children with disabilities gain education and skills. I will share some ideas about low-level technology that can assist teachers and children in rural and remote areas of the world.
