Full Session Description (as long as you would like):

Students in Norwood High School Global Citizenship Program and Coakley Middle School Coakley Ambassadors program have spent 2016-2017 participating in virtual exchanges through Global Nomads Group, One World Classroom, IEarn.org and SeeSaw. Through Global Nomads Group students interacted with a school in Jordan using the GNG platform and Google Hangouts. Using SeeSaw, our middle school students connected with students in Grotius College in Delft, The Netherlands. They are looking forward to their first Google Hangout in May, 2017. Through One World Classroom, students exchanged art work with a school in Belarus and we used IEarn to participate in a Holiday Card Exchange with 7 schools in 7 other countries. Our students travel internationally as well, traveling to Costa Rica to participate in service learning opportunities and to Milan to participate in a Global Leadership Summit on the Future of Food. NHS GCP students hosted a Design Thinking Challenge on Human Rights for students in surrounding towns. After listening to speakers, they chose a human rights issue and built prototypes to help solve that issue. They then made "pitches" to try to convince the audience that their prototype was the best. All of these experiences have been powerful for our students and have been instrumental in helping them grow as global citizens.

We will present mostly through animated and illustrated and slides but will have exemplars to share with participants as well. There will be opportunities to reflect on the content of the presentation and share ideas throughout the session.
