Discuss how Internet video enables unprecedented opportunities to enable individual students to learn from teachers around the world and how teachers can benefit.
Full Session Description (one paragraph minimum):
For the first time ever, talented teachers have the ability to educate students from all over the world. As a medium, video transcends the traditional “walls” that limit each teachers’ reach.
We will discuss how teachers can use video to engage their students in flipped teaching and how they can enjoy the benefits of impacting students beyond their own classroom. The discussion will include how Knowmia seeks to help enable teachers to take full advantage of available technology to customize their teaching approach.
We will also address how families can benefit from unfettered access to the world’s best teachers. For instance, students can explore different pedagogical approaches to key concepts and also experience the benefits of a truly global education (e.g., learning ESL from an American teacher or Chinese history in Mandarin from a native speaker).
