The session discusses how the Papua New Guinea University of Technology (Unitech), the only technological university in the Pacific (except Australia and New Zealand) fills the gap to cope a global demand for a quality education of university engineering students a consequence from quality educators mentoring them. The role of the Office of the Higher Education (OHS) and (Institute of Engineers in Papua New Guinea (IEPNG) and other stakeholders play significantly to bridge the gap between the global demand for quality education.  This order is instituting a policy to submit for accreditation, the Washington Accord, now completed a year one of a five-year accreditation program. In line with the upgrading a system, syllabus and curricular offerings of the engineering departments of the University were reviewed.  The analysis includes technology literacy of teachers and appropriate pedagogy. In the advent of technology advances the use of Learning Management Systems (LMS), Flipped Classroom, and other web and cloud tools advocacy become dominant.  It has resulted in the birth of an Enhanced Learning and Teaching Diploma for Teachers consisting of three (3) courses: Learning Management System (LMS) & Flipped Classroom, Teaching 101, and Project Based Teaching.  It also resulted in a new postgraduate programmes: Master in Engineering (Civil Engineering), and Master of Science in Solid Waste and Resource Management.
