A Big Project
In January of 2012, a group of individuals from 18 countries came together to form A Big Project. These organizers sought to gain clarity on where people everywhere agreed the world could be better, and to share the news in ways that could open people’s hearts - through art and music.
Since then, thousands of supporters from more than 97countires have joined the effort. Artists, musicians and creative people of all ages, in all regions of the world are now preparing for the biggest arts renaissance since the middle ages.
All art and music created for the renaissance will be shared with a network of more than a half million people in every region of the world through websites, radio, television, newspapers and social media outlets.
At this session you will learn about the effort and how teachers and students can get involved and have their classroom’s artistic projects featured!

Hi Lucy,
Thanks for your email. I'm a little confused about the process, so would love some clarity.
I was hoping to present at both GEC and Get Ideas/Ed Surge. I'm sensing now that this is not typical? If I have to choose between the two, I'd much prefer to present at GEC.
However, I emailed Tony and he suggested that he would speak with you about this proposal and whether it made sense to present in both spaces. Also, he asked me to keep the tag for 2012GETIDEAS on the proposal. (I actually removed it when you asked me to, and then put it back on after he asked me to, so please disregard some of the back and forths here.)
And if you have any other suggestions, please do let me know!
Thanks for your consideration and support! Very excited for the conference.
Best,
-Dara
Dara -
It's up to you. The GETideas strand is about technology-driven innovation and it provides an outlet for companies to present as we generally do not allow companies to present unless they are sponsors. In this case, Cisco is sponsor the strand, and making it possible for small companies to participate. If you feel that your project fits the description that we've outlined on our site, please apply. There are additional requirements for this strand that you have to submit.
Please let me know ASAP which direction you are going.
Lucy
Hi Lucy,
I have to be brief, as I'm in NYC and the storm is causing internet issues. I'm still a little unclear. Are you saying I need to choose a direction... like GETideas or GEC? Or just that I have to apply to GETideas in order to be considered for both?
If it's important to choose, I'd much prefer to focus on our partnership with GEC (as we aren't really a company.. as much as an all-volunteer NGO who happens to have some cool technology innovations).
If you meant we could apply to both, but just needed to fill in requirements... I did go ahead and apply with all requirements to Tony. He mentioned he would make a note about this proposal and bring up with you what the implications were.
Sorry I can't go into more detail right now, but if you have any questions, please give a call in case the power runs out. (646) 391-1984
Thanks!!
-Dara
I'm sure things are dicey with the hurricane. I have two friends without power in Manhattan.
GETideas is really geared toward ed tech start ups. If that's not your thing, then edit your proposal and remove that tag. Leave the other tags, and you'll be good to go.
Thanks,
Lucy
OK. Removed tag. Thanks!
-Dara
Are you applying for our special strand for ed tech start ups? Please read about it here: http://www.globaleducationconference.com/page/getideas-and-edsurge-.... There are special requirement for participants in this strand.
If not, please remove the tag 2012GETideas, and I'll be happy to review this propsal!
Thanks,
Lucy Gray
