Full Session Description (as long as you would like):
Teachers have many demands on their time and attention. What can we do to encourage them to include global learning in their classrooms?
In an interactive conversation, we will discuss how the global learning community can inspire educators to focus on global competence. The exchange will focus on questions such as:
- What is holding teachers back?
- Would it be useful to have an organization that can act as a non-affiliated clearinghouse pointing newcomers to available resources and platforms?
- Would current global educators want to participate in a mentoring program, allowing the hard-won knowledge of how to craft a global education program to be shared?
- And for experienced global educators, what do you wish you could have had available to you when you started?
This session will be an exploration of how we can bring the strands of the global education community together more effectively with the aim of lowering the bar to entry for interested, but intimidated educators. .
