Full Session Description (as long as you would like): Hear all the nitty-gritty details of how my 9th grade general education students connected with a senior class in Daejeon City, Korea and how this connection forever changed not just our daily classroom environment but how it positively impacted the student-teacher relationship even a year later. We will discuss everything from how we were able to implement this global connection regularly into an already packed curriculum, the value of focusing on global competence, and the ways in which my students and I were impacted through this virtual classroom exchange. We will also reflect on the incredible opportunity we had to host 3 Korean students and 1 teacher in our homes and school.

  • Jillian,

I'm currently teaching at an international school in Brazil. This sounds like an amazing experience, and one I would like to model. I'm looking forward to your presentation!
