Dear GEC Members -
As our 2014 free, online conference is drawing near, you will start to see communications from us with more frequency. This is to make sure you're aware of related opportunities and deadlines. Our conference will start onNovember 17 and will run around the clock through midday US hours on November 21. We're so excited to celebrate the fifth anniversary of this event!
Here are a few quick notes:

- We are hosting a virtual meet up today (October 16) at 4 PM CDT (GMT-5). Usetimeanddate.com to convert this time for your own time zone. We'll be answering questions about the conference and attendees can also share information about their work and projects. Please stop by!
- Proposals to present at our virtual conference are due in 16 days. Accepted applicants select their own time to present, so it's to your advantage to submit a proposal sooner rather than later. Time slots do fill up quickly on our conference schedule. Make sure to take a look at the 70+ accepted proposals for inspiration.
- We have a new press release that provides details about the conference. Please distribute this to friends and colleagues who may share your interest in global education: http://goo.gl/QOkB1G.
- Volunteers are needed to help moderate sessions during the week of November 17-21. No experience necessary; we provide training. This is a great way to network meet other GEC members.
- We are in need of student speakers for the conference. Here's a flyer with information: https://www.smore.com/z84e2.
