Short Session Description (one line): Connecting Pre-service Teachers for Co-operative and Collaborative Learning through A Blend of Web Tools and Offline Tools

Full Session Description (as long as you would like): Edmodo, Email and Google Forms are well-known web tools for making global connections and collaboration. The current presentation is aimed at sharing the experiences of applying these web tools meant for global connections and collaboration with a blend of offline tools like Presentation, Word and Adobe Acrobat for connecting learners from higher educational institutions like teacher education institutions for observing and examining local co-operative and distant collaborative learning taking place in a closed group of pre-service teachers. Here, the pre-service teachers acted as the learners, as they were enrolled in teacher education courses. The two groups of pre-service teachers were located quite far away from each other and were separated by a large distance. While the offline tools were used for creating the content, the global connectivity web tools were used for sharing the content material and establishing the connectivity among pre-service teachers. Their interaction and comments were recorded and analysed for having an insight into connecting pre-service teachers for local co-operative and distant collaborative learning through a blend of web tools and offline tools. The study has implications for local cooperation as well as global collaboration with respect to teaching and learning of pre-service teachers.

    Dear Vinod,

Thank you for your GEC proposal! As we are a conference focused on global collaboration, it would be helpful if you could edit your proposal and add language that indicates global aspects of your work. How are the tools you have used in your instruction helpful to building global connections?

Once you've made some edits, email me at lucy@globaledevents.com and I'll accept your proposal.

    Thanks,

    Lucy Gray
