Full Session Description (as long as you would like): Young people are inheriting a complex world and need to be prepared to both understand and overcome the problems facing our global society. School systems are becoming more aware that students need the opportunity to develop fundamental social and emotional skills if there is to be a better future. Helping young people develop as global citizens is a key part of the strategy in addressing a number of the problems facing global society.
This e-presentation will explore the following key questions: What skills do teenagers actually need to be effective global citizens today? And how can schools best support students to develop these?
This e-presentation will provide insight into some of the mindsets and skills that young people need to be exposed to in order to be successful in the 21st century by providing an overview of the following High Resolves modules: collective identity, independent thinking, social justice, digital citizenship, personal impact, collective action, effective collaboration and conflict resolution. The presentation will share key insights on the future of global citizenship education, including example strategies for achieving social and emotional learning outcomes.
The e-presentation will be delivered by High Resolves, a not-for-profit educational initiative that has empowered over 120,000 teenagers since 2005 to be purposeful global citizens and leaders.
