Creating Global Citizens through Teen Travel
Short Session Description (one line): How do you create global citizens with your high school students?
Full Session Description (as long as you would like):
Service travel is a powerful tool. By empowering communities through education, economic opportunity and self-reliance abroad your students learn leadership skills, creating meaningful impacts and best practices for partnering with other schools and communities.
Learning takes on real meaning through participation in sustainable development initiatives. Students not only learn about life in a developing country, but they also come to understand the change they can affect through service. Initiatives spring from opportunities discovered through communication between partner communities and your classroom. Prior connection with your partner community deepens the travel experience for students and creates a deeper understanding of the issues.

Hi Joanne,
Please add the required conference tags in the format specified in STEP 9 of the call for proposals: Call for Proposals. For example, if you want your proposal to appear in the teacher strand of the conference, you must use the tag exactly like this: 2017Teachers. This must be in the tag field on your proposal page.
To fix this:
1) Go to your proposal page.(Find it under MY PAGE in the top navigation bar or use our search box in the upper righthand corner of our website).
2) Click the options button in the upper righthand corner of your proposal page.
3) Edit your proposal by clicking edit discussion and add tags in the field for tags OR use the option that says Edit Tags.
4) Make sure to save.
5) Email me at lucy@globaledevents.com when you have done this and I'll accept your proposal.
Thanks!
Joanne,
I think you are missing some elements of the required template as mentioned in the call for proposals, too. Please make sure to use the template.
Hi Lucy,
I had 2 tags on there but changed i
t to 1 now. I don't see a "save" button anywhere. Can you check and see if this works now?
Joanne,
This is still not in the format required in the call for proposals. We provided you with text that you needed to copy and paste and then fill in. Your tags have not been changed. For example, a tag needs to look like this exactly: 2017Teachers.
There is a save button when you edit your proposal. You'll have to look carefully. I use Control+F or Command+F to search for text on a web page sometimes and find that helpful.
Again, just as an FYI...By the way when I refer to format, I'm referring to the template that we ask people to use. For some reason, you removed portions of it when copying and pasting....

When signing up for a time slot, I need to put in the Link to GlobalEdCon Session Proposal (full URL with http://):
Where would I find this? Is it the link below?

I have put the 3 multiple tags in quotes. Let me know if it works. If not, I will go back down to 1 tag. The way I read the instructions is that when using multiple tags, use quotes OR commas.?
You can put in multiple tags as long as they are separated by a comma. Please do not use the quotes.
Example: 2017Teachers, 2017Students
