Successful project collaboration between teachers from 140 different countries
eLanguages an creative collaborative platform for teachers globally has now been running for more than 10 years, started with 60 registered teachers, now has 20.000 registered teachers from over 140 countries. In this session we share our experiences so far, showcase some of our projects and the role teachers play in bringing cultures, learners and curricula together, and the importance of this role.

In 1999 Ralph came up with the concept of an online platform for teachers to collaborate with schools and teachers from other countries and cultures or even with teachers in their own country. This idea was subsequently endorsed by British Council and the Department of Education in England. In partnership with them Ralph developed eLanguages - Creative Collaboration for Teachers Globally- www.elanguages.org.
eLanguages has been a success from ever since it started. Because of its simplicity, it proved to be a highly effective tool for teachers to connect and collaborate internationally to raise the cultural awareness of children.
eLanguages is a free and simple-to-use tool for teachers to create their own projects with teachers in other countries. Motivate their students to broaden their horizons through fun and curriculum-relevant international collaboration using your own, structured, project space.
As of today eLanguages has 20,000 registered teachers from 140 different countries and is available in 23 languages.
Teachers much enjoy working with eLanguages and through their projects promote global awareness, fostering global competency, and inspiring action towards solving real–world problems.

Ralph Genang has been a speaker at many international conferences since 1997. He is an expert in the field of Collaborative Learning, Online Learning Communities and Creation and sharing of Open Education Resources. During this session he will
