Short Session Description (one line):
Design and Implement Global Teaching Strategies as a Full-time Teacher-on-Call in an International School.
Full Session Description (as long as you would like):
Today’s reality is that many new teachers will not find full-time teaching positions right away and will be employed as temporary teachers/teachers-on-call/substitute/supply teachers. Make the most of this opportunity! Design and implement global teaching strategies as a Full-time Teacher-on-Call in an International School. Being a Teacher-on-Call in an International Baccalaureate School is globally focused by its very definition. As stated in the IB Principles Into Practice 2000 edition, the “ IB framework emphasis is placed on developing the skills and attitudes, the understanding of concepts and the knowledge needed to participate in an increasingly global society. The big question is, how can I be an effective substitute teacher preparing students to participate in an “increasing global society”? As an experienced Middle Years Programme teacher-on-call at an International Baccalaureate School, I will share best practices on how to include fundamentals of global teaching strategies to ensure we prepare students to participate in an increasing global society.
