Your Name and Title: Olena Merzliakova, doctoral candidate

School or Organization Name: Institute of Pedagogical and Adult Education of National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine

Co-Presenter Name(s): Galina Pokhmelkina, Eliane Fitzé

Area of the World from Which You Will Present: Ukraine

Language in Which You Will Present: Ukrainian

Target Audience(s): Teachers, educators, mediators, facilitators, psychologists; whoever is interested

Short Session Description (one line): Dialogue Culture in Education

Full Session Description (as long as you would like): A “Dialogue Culture” is a prerequisite for the peaceful coexistence of different groups of a society, where personal and collective values and norms interact. In this presentation, we want to introduce our understanding of dialogue with regard to education, to represent dialogue as part of culture, and to give examples of dialogue culture in different contexts: Ukraine, Russia and Switzerland. This combination arose out of a project by the Swiss Peace Foundation swisspeace, where civil society activists from Russia and Ukraine met to analyze their countries’ problems and find common ground for joint action. One of the most urgent issues they identified was an underdeveloped “dialogue culture” in the two countries, a rejection of cooperation, which is strongly connected to the recent conflict in Ukraine.

Isn't this proposal a duplicate? I thought you were going to submit this in three different languages.

    • Yes, this proposal - a duplicate of the proposals of my colleagues from Russia (Galina Pokhmelkina) and Elian Fitze (Switzerland). We made a joint presentation, and translated it into three languages: English, Ukrainian, Russian. I plan to make our presentation in the Ukrainian language. Is there a need to translate my proposal here  into  Ukrainian language too?

No, I think you made two of the same proposal. Make sure to delete one, please. Go to MY PAGE and check what you posted.

        • Dear Lucy .... I guess I got a misunderstanding with the duplicated proposals  ..... maybe I removed the approved proposal ..... what to do now to get the approval of my proposal?... now my proposal is into the category "Submitted Proposals" instead of "Accepted Proposals"

I'm guessing you either edited the proposal or deleted the one that had been accepted. Either way, I'll move it back to accepted.

My original thought was that you were submitted three proposals to take up 3 time slots. Each time the presentation would be given in a different language. I also thought I suggested that you submit each proposal in the language that you're going to present in, but that's only a suggestion.

        • Yes, I removed the duplicate. Thanks you for  attention.
