Edu-Collaboration: An idea through which students, educators and community members join forces to create an outstanding learning environment
Edu-Collaboration - Now is the time for people to help people. Learning in a digital classroom requires a change not just in technology but in culture. Edu-Collaboration, if I may coin a term, holds promise for both reducing the amount of money schools spend and improving student performance.
Through this idea of Edu-Collaboration teachers feel empowered to mentor other teachers. Students collaborate and study with other students. In a “Flipped Classroom” students come to class prepared after reviewing the next day’s lecture in advance with help from family member or tutors.
If this sounds futuristic or expensive, you’ll realize it is neither after you meet the Teacher of the Year from Prince William County, Virginia. The Special Education teachers from Forest Park High School believe it takes a village to educate a child. They are using technology to create an e-village learning environment. Experience how they are connecting their students with people right in their community, classrooms around the world and parents who are deployed oversees. These teachers and parents collaborate, using free and very inexpensive technology, as one more way to provide the best possible educational experience for their children.
