The 21st century requires graduates who are truly college and career ready, which includes acquiring the knowledge, skills and behaviors for global competency. This session will examine a definition of global competency, and present several case studies to showcase best practices for integrating global competency into teaching across disciplines, including assessment frameworks.  We will present several case studies which highlight innovative ways to utilize project based learning, arts integration, and international exchange to bolster student engagement, and approaches to professional development which help to enhance the capacity of educators to meaningfully address global issues in the classroom.

I'm approving this, although It's not quite the template that we provide and the tag should read 2012Teachers (this helps us sort the conference strands by tag). I'm going to edit the tag so it's in the right format...

    • Sorry Lucy - I really did read the instructions, but wasn't sure if the template was meant to be simply cut and paste completely as is even though those fields did not appear (co-presenter, relevant websites, etc). So I cut and paste the whole thing.  I can alter it if you'd like? Let me know.  (I also meant to use that Teacher tag --inadvertent omission, apologies).

Let me know if you'd prefer I revise the format a bit.
