Using gamification, see how one school engaged their diverse student body, connected students to each other, their teachers and the larger community.

 

Full Session Description (as long as you would like):

Hoping to get students reading and writing more, O’Neill Middle School designed an engaging and competitive game, encouraging collaboration, creativity and critical thinking, in which students could voluntarily participate. The results were astounding, with 80% of the school population involved in this game. Students began interacting beyond their classrooms, forming partnerships with each other, connecting using online tools and problem solving together. Learn how this school designed, created, and implemented an award-winning gamification program, and how they got kids connecting, collaborating, reading, writing and more— all while playing a game.

    Hi Tasha,

    Thank you for your proposal. I'm not quite sure how this fits into our global mission: http://www.globaleducationconference.com/notes/The_GEC_Mission_Stat.... This conference is not focused on ed tech, although ed tech drives a lot of global collaborations that are presented tat this event.

    If you would like to edit your proposal and clarify how this fits into globally connected teaching and learning, I'd be happy to review it again.
