Full Session Description (one paragraph minimum):
This session discusses a World Wiki - Webquest as a first step to introduce students or teachers to global awareness. The World Wiki – Web has been incorporated for six years in our graduate technology-integration class and has enabled mature learners to develop a stronger awareness of cultures of the world. The World Wiki-Webquest is a fun first step to learn about global issues and develop cultural understanding necessary for effective global collaboration. In this session, participants will view a Wiki-Web Quest completed by USA teachers in a technology-integration class. The World Wiki – Webquest requires learners to take the interesting roles of Story Teller, News Reporter, Contemporary Artist, and Anthropologist. The learners use Web tools and Web 2.0 tools to investigate and report on their findings. Join us to discover the value of our World-Wiki Webquest in increasing student engagement and enhancing individual awareness of cultural differences in our global society.
