Integrating primary sources from around the world into classroom instruction is one way that students can develop critical thinking and analysis skills and learn about world cultures and perspectives. Jennifer Hanson and Michelle Rago will highlight ways to locate global primary sources online. Jennifer will discuss search strategies for finding news from around the world. In addition, she will also highlight Primary Source’s resource guides which include website recommendations for finding primary sources about different countries and regions. Michelle will feature the World Digital Library, a collaboration of the Library of Congress and UNESCO. She will show how to use the World Digital Library website to find over 2,500 primary sources from more than 60 countries. She will also highlight how users can access the site in seven languages and demonstrate how users can listen to background information and view videos from curators about sources.
