Come learn about this globally connected  network of educators who meet, explore collaborate and teach in Massively Online Role-Playing Games (MMORPGs) and virtual worlds.


Full Session Description (one paragraph minimum):

 

Gamers Advancing Meaningful Education (G.A.M.E) is an online community of global educators who game. At its core is an online synchronous gaming community.

This panel presentation will illustrate several projects and the global collaborations that educators from G.A.M.E. have engaged in as well as upcoming opportunities for collaboration, professional development and events. Some of these collaborations include, open online courses in P2PU.org and other independent platforms such as the Games MOOC that draw global educators and speakers, guided tours of new gaming environments, development of gaming curriculum integration that include digital citizenship, diversity and cultural awareness, as well as practitioner webinars showcasing innovation around the world. 

Members of G.A.M.E have been involved in creating the games and virtual worlds exploration tracks at Virtual Worlds Best Practices in Education annual conferences.  They started Connected Educator tours with ISTE SIGVE, the global EduMachinima fests that celebrate the creation of educator and students in games and virtual worlds and the “It Takes A Guild: A Guild of Educators” monthly webinar series.

G.A.M.E. is open to new members whether they are gamers or not and is always looking for educators globally that would like to share their experiences with gaming in education. G.A.M.E. is also committed to creating a global open online environment, where members can collaborate, gain professional development, and continually add to their global PLNs and educational networks.
