Dear GEC Members -
We have several exciting announcements and reminders in this newsletter. Read on for details!
Our Next Event: Global Leadership Week
We’re are beyond thrilled to announce a new event in our Globaled Events series!
Global Leadership Week will take place April 25-29, 2016 and we welcome participation from student, educator, organizational and corporate leaders. The main organizers for this event are the GEC, iEARN-USA, World Savvy, and VIF International Education.
Global Leadership Week (GLW) is a weeklong convening of virtual and face to face events designed to celebrate leadership through global action in K20 education. GLW is an opportunity for education leaders to learn from one another and share effective principles in leadership, particularly within the context of an interconnected, global age. During Global Leadership Week, partner organizations, companies, school districts and individual schools will design and host virtual events to showcase thought leadership. These events will be listed on a GLW calendar posted to our website.
The GEC itself will be hosting 2 events during Global Leadership Week. The first event will be an invitation-only summit at Edmodo’s headquarters in Silicon Valley; this event will be streamed online. The second event will be a virtual mini-conference on April 26. Details are forthcoming as we’re currently working the program for both events.
Here’s how you and/or your organization can get involved:
As a way to support education leaders, to connect with others, and to highlight the work of your school/organization, we would like you to host a virtual or face-to-face event using the suggestions and directions posted here. Face-to-face events ideally should have a virtual component as well. This is similar to our Global Collaboration Day in its design.
Sign up to be a media partner for Global Leadership Week. Send an email to Lucy Gray (lucy@lucygrayconsulting.com) with specific details on how you can provide significant reach for this event.
If you represent an organization or company, consider finanically supporting our work. Sponsorship helps keep all of our GlobalEd Events free for all participants and provides your organization with exposure to a tech savvy and globally minded community. For sponsorship information, contact Steve Hargadon at steve@hargadon.com.
