Dear GEC Members -
We are getting very excited about the upcoming Global Education Conference and hope that you are as well! Please read this quick update, so that you are informed about our looming proposal deadline. Only 7 more days until we close the Call for Proposals!
Here are some reminders for this upcoming week:
Attendees
- We have a new press release. Please help us publicize our event by distributing this to your networks! Thanks to Dylan de Waart of Global Buddy, Paula Lameu, and Egle Marija Ramanauskaite who translated this into Dutch, Portuguese, and Lithuanian for us.
- Make sure to stay in touch with us over social media. This page of resources was recently updated.
Volunteers
- We are always in need of volunteer moderators during conference week. Please sign up here if you'd like to help. This is a fun way to get to know others in our community. No experience necessary.
Partner Organizations
- If you represent a non-profit organization or school and would like to help us with outreach, please sign up here. Your organization will be listed in our directory in return for helping us get the word out about the conference. Partners should also join this email group so that we can communicate with you directly.
Presenters and Potential Presenters
- Submit a proposal by midnight (GMT-6) on November 1 in order to ensure inclusion in this conference.
- Please remember that we are not a general education nor a technology conference; we are focused on global collaboration. Please familiarize yourself with our mission so that your proposals are aligned to our goals.
- If you would like to get an idea of what makes a good proposal, take a look at accepted sessions.
- We are particularly interested in having more student participation this year. Leadership Team member Julie Lindsay is organizing this effort. Here is a flyer with details.
- For profit companies must be sponsors in order to present. Please email co-chair Steve Hargadon at steve@hargadon.com for details.
- If you have an accepted session or are serving as a volunteer, you should probably be participating in our training sessions or reviewing training materials in order to be ready for our November conference. Thanks to Amy Brinkley and Nikki Ugalde for leading these training efforts!
