I am looking to do a collaboration with another primary classroom (low elementary) during the next school year. I would like to do this using web 2.0 tools. I also would love to do it with a school outside of the United States. My focus would be an comparing our two places language, culture, interests, weather, climate, etc.

I can add to your work. ahaafoundation.org is an art history course and very image rich.
I would like to share my website with you ahaafoundation.org and find out if you find it works for any of your classes.
Please let me know if this adds to your classes understanding of ancient cultures.

Matthew, if you haven't done so already, you might want to check out ePals. They have a project called "the way we are" that would seem to fit your objectives.
I've had mixed success with ePals. If you are pro-active and seek out partners by contacting new members with similar aged students, you should get some replies. If you simply post your profile and wait, chances are nothing will come of it. Checking the forums is also helpful.
In general, it is a very good resource for global collaboration. Best of luck!

Matthew, I will be looking for collaborative partners for next year. I am currently in Doha, Qatar but am moving to Zurich Switzerland in July to take up the IT Curriculum Coordinator at the Zurich International School. I will be new, but also promoting global collaborative projects. Contact me when your school year begins and let's see what we can work out. By the time you begin (we start Aug 5th) I will have a better idea of who and when a collaboration could work.
Cheers
