We're home from the 2014 ISTE conference and wanted to take a moment to express our deep appreciation to all attendees and presenters. We are thankful for your efforts to make it to our face to face event, and were amazed by the presentations given by all of our Ignite speakers. We are inspired and are hope you are as well!
With our previous ISTE events, we've experienced a large turnout, but never to the magnitude of ISTE 2014. It's a good problem to have, but perhaps it was frustrating to those who were kept out by capacity regulations due to building fire codes. We apologize if people were not able to get into the room right away, and as the event went on, there was more room for people to float in. Next year, I'm sure ISTE will provide a larger a room as they noticed the popularity of this event. We are grateful for their continuing support!
Resources from Saturday's event can be found here in this Google Drive folder: http://goo.gl/i5kSpk. We had to make a copy of the collaborative notes doc as someone inadvertently moved it to their own Drive folder and I can't move it back to our folder. Please feel free to add any resources to the notes doc or upload slidedecks to this folder. For profit entities were not permitted to present at Global Ed Day as they need to be sponsors of our November conference in order to be featured. However, for profit groups are welcome to add a description and links to their resources to the notes doc.
Please keep in touch with us and stay involved by joining our online community at http://globaleducationconference.com. We also encourage you to follow us on Twitter and via the hashtag #globaled14 (all of our social media channels are listed here). If you have a specific project, resource or related need, always feel free to post to our discussion forum and we'll use social media to publicize your post. This is a great way to find project partners and share any materials that you come across.
Finally, we also need your help in spreading the word about our upcoming conference. A variety of digital posters are located here for this purpose: https://www.smore.com/u/lucygray. Please feel free to disseminate any of these to your network. We will start approving sessions within the next week, so stay tuned!
Thanks again and see you online soon!
