Hello all,
I just wanted to give you a heads up about this competition that gets kids around the world involved in identifying and solving real-world problems. The Smithsonian-ePals Invent It Challenge offers K-12 kids a chance to touch lives and even get their inventions patented.
One past winner is a 13-year-old boy who invented a hands-free vehicle for transporting refugees fleeing conflict and famine. He was inspired by news stories of Somalian parents having to leave their kids by the side of the road. Many of the other inventions are quite impressive, as well.
Here's the website for details and submissions: www.epals.com/invent-it. And attached is the press release: Smithsonian and ePals Challenge Kids Globally to Solve Real-World Problems in Third Annual Invention Competition.
The deadline is early April.
Thanks for helping spread the word.
Best,
Susan
