Dear Global Educators!

My name is Patrick Walsh and I teach at Catlin Gabel School in Portland Oregon; currently I am a Fulbright grantee at the University of Jyväskylä in Finland. During my Fulbright, I have built a free global education website (globalschoolroom.org), to encourage teacher-to-teacher and student-to-student dialogue across borders.

Globalschoolroom is not a company but a place online for teachers, where they can share assignments, links, and ideas for classroom activities. Through an embeded "bulletin board," teachers can also work together to plan joint lessons on issues such as climate change and the migration crisis—and enable their students to communicate directly about these vital topics.

When we help our students talk to and learn from other students in other parts of the world, we help them to promote global peace and understanding, an experience that should not be reserved for those who can afford to study abroad. Globalschoolroom.org is a new tool to aid such intercultural dialogue

I hope you will take a look and join. And, if you know an educator, anywhere in the world, who teaches about global issues, I would really appreciate you passing on the site to them. They could be in any discipline.

Thanks so much and I hope to hear from you.

Patrick Walsh
