Happy International Education Week! This is one in a series of updates for registrants of the Global Learning for an Open World (GLOW) conference taking place starting on Friday, November 18th. On behalf of our partners and presenters, we welcome you to GLOW and look forward to seeing you online this week.

Here are important details you need to know about this free and virtual event.

  1. GLOW will open for attendees and presenters at 12:00 AM CST (UTC-6) on Friday, November 18. Use timeanddate.com for time zone conversions. See times in various countries here.

  2. You can visit the conference platform and browse the schedule and more NOW. Go here: https://hopin.com/events/the-glow-conference. Click the blue button that reads ENTER EVENT at the top of the page.

  3. Live sessions will start at 8:00 AM CST (UTC-6)  on November 18 and run through 2 PM CDT (UTC-6). The conference platform (Hopin) will remain open for networking and visits to our expo until 12:00 AM CST (UTC-6).

  4. Our GLOW conference partners are excited to meet you. Please drop by the virtual expo when the conference opens and learn more about their services and programs. If partners are available live in their booth, times will be posted in the conference schedule. Otherwise, you can register interest or message them in their booth, and they will get back to you.

  5. All sessions will be recorded and viewable through January 31, 2023, in the Replay section on the conference platform. If you want to see sessions beyond that, you will need to purchase a premium ticket which will enable you to view sessions until November 2023.

  6. Our presenters prefer live audiences. If you can attend sessions in real-time, please do so. There is at least one session every hour of the conference.

  7. Please fill out your profile on Hopin for networking purposes. Indicate your interests, website, and social media links if you are interested in connecting with other educators and organization leaders.

  8. Speed Networking has been enabled on the conference platform. This is an optional opportunity to have quick meetings with conference attendees. As with all social features of the Hopin platform, including chat and Speed Networking, please be respectful in approaching other attendees. Here is how to report an attendee if you encounter a problem.

  9. If you need technical assistance regarding the Hopin platform, don't hesitate to contact Hopin directly at support@hopin.com. The Hopin knowledge base has useful information for attendees, presenters, and exhibitors, including this troubleshooting guide.

  10. If you need guidance on how to make the most of your conference experience, we will have a drop-in room for attendees. It will be live after the opening keynote. There will also be a room for Spanish speakers

  11. We need volunteers for the conference. Duties include supervising our attendee lounge and moderating sessions. If you are interested in helping, join our primary community and then this group for details.

  12. Don’t forget to connect on social media with us. Our conference hashtag is #GLOWedu.

I know this is a great deal of information, but I am confident that it will be useful to you this week. Save this email for future reference.

Thank you for your support,

Lucy Gray
