In our Integrated Global Studies School, we are looking for schools around the world to maybe do a project with and become "video pals" with. Topics for collaboration include: carbon footprint, Darwin, about sustainability, and ethics. Time frame - these students are in this program for 4 consecutive class periods (12:30-3:25pm in Chicago). Any guidance or suggestions from the GEC community would be appreciated.

    I am a Computer Education Teacher in New Hampshire. We are a small high school in North Conway of 1000 students.

    I work with teachers and student to help integrate technology into the curriculum and would like to connect our classrooms with other classrooms around the world.

    Our teachers have 55 or 90 minutes classes throughout the day from 8 to 2:20.

    Our second semester starts in 2 weeks.

    If you can give me an idea of what you have in mind I will begin to solicit our teachers.

    We are Hong Kong teachers searching for international collaboration partnership with overseas teachers for a project called World Healer www.worldhealer.wikispaces.com . This project was previously implemented in a Barcelona secondary school which collaborated with us. The objectives of the project are:
    1. To inquire the concepts of global warming
    2. To understand how people contribute to global warming
    3. To develop ICT competencies (photo/ video editing, on-line forum, video-conferencing)
    4. To develop creativity as well as collaborative and communication skills
    5. To develop global perspectives through exchange of ideas with international students
    6. To develop the sense of global citizenship (particularly at environmental issues)

      I would love to find out more about collaborating with you and your classes. Our new semester starts in 2 weeks. I have a computer literacy class that I would like to pursue the ICT competencies with you.

      What do you do about the time difference? Do you suggest using the Ning format?

      On another note I have many language teacher Spanish, French, German who would like to collaborate online with English learners. Do you have a contact in Spain? Could you give them my information?

        I think the time difference between HK and USA is 12 hours.
        We can have an extra class after school to adapt to the needs.
