This session applies insights from child development research to guide educators in helping students navigate differences across cultures and backgrounds in our increasingly interconnected world.

 

The following topics will be covered:

-How to prepare students for successful intercultural experiences in the classroom

-How to establish a supportive environment for students as they build meaningful relationships with others

-How to promote crucial skills for global competency, such as perspective-taking, respectful communication, and cooperative groupwork

 

The talk will be led by Chelsea Donaldson, Senior Research Associate at Empatico, which is a new free online tool that connects teachers around the world for their students to virtually meet and interact.
