Short Session Description (one line):

A session to discuss the lack of culture education in the world and ways to enable it's growth and thereby global innovation.

Full Session Description (one paragraph minimum):

Teams made up of members from different countries and cultures are more innovative because of their different perspectives. These teams create innovations that have never been seen before. Between 2006 and 2012, 24.3% of startup companies in the U.S. had at least one founder that was foreign born. Nationwide, these companies employed roughly 560,000 workers and generated $63 billion in sales in 2012.

Astounding numbers... especially considering that most of these foreign born founders never had any formal cross-cultural education. Typically time is the only way someone can adapt to a new country and culture.

There are 750,000 foreign college students entering the U.S. and 270,000 U.S. students studying abroad, with 100's of thousands of other students studying abroad in other countries. Global travel and global studies increase year after year. How do these students learn about new cultures now?

We will discuss this and how cross-cultural education can be improved to help people understand each other and drive global innovation.
