Short Session Description (one line): Focus on incorporating Asian Studies intro as mandatory general education for college students
Full Session Description (one paragraph minimum): In our growing and expanding world it is very important to introduce students to a world class education. As a graduate student of Kean University I know all too well the benefits of incorporating world-class knowledge into a secondary education. Bringing new knowledge of different cultures is a great way to change student's minds and to open them up to new worlds. This not only helps the American society into assimilating into a more "global mindset", it also helps to show the rest of the world America's alacrity to focus on world issues. Producing globally empathetic graduates gives the entire world an advantage toward achieving peace and finding greater solutions to our dominating issues. Just as the incorporation of the Spanish language and culture was an affluent prospect at one time for education, so should Asian Studies be encountered with the same dedication. Students would be better equipped to expand their talents to quickly advancing countries such as Korea, Japan, and China and excel in their particular fields or careers.
