Short Session Description: Insights from the School of Hard Knocks, drawn from Virtual Problem-solving Teams; Egypt, Moroccco and US university students.

Full Session Description: Participants in this class will learn how to engage their students in global problem-solving teams, tackling real issues and learning how to work in a group across cultures, time and oceans..  Using examples from my Social Media for Global Change class at Seattle University, where students work directly  with young leaders in Morocco and Egypt, and from my experiences in training university faculty in this approach at the U of Washington, you will learn how to help your students have meaningful exchanges using live video conferences, and youth-produced videos. And, you will learn to  develop tools for helping them work effectively in project-based learning problem-solving teams, and never be physically in the same room together.  This is the new work world of today that is emerging, and this is how to help students navigate it now.
