Short Session Description (one line): This session will present the International Ed News blog and explain how the mission of the publication has been accomplished through the collaboration of an international group of students, teachers, researchers, and policy-makers, who learn through their joint efforts in an online setting, but also independently in diverse geographic contexts.
Full Session Description (one paragraph minimum):
International Ed News provides links to news, research, and reports that discuss what’s new, what’s good, and what’s effective from pre-kindergarten through secondary education in different parts of the world. The links are drawn from submissions from a small group of contributors and are designed to provide a quick glimpse into some of the educational issues being debated outside the United States. Selection of links is based on international relevance, connections to key issues of educational change, and a desire to include diverse topics, settings, and perspectives.
This presentation will explore the learning potential for those who read the site, but also for those who contribute to the site. Presenters will explain what they have learned as a result of working on this publication, and how their experiences have contributed to their global and local perspectives on education.
