Full Session Description (as long as you would like): This teacher/student co-presented session will discuss the rhetoric involved in news media, popular culture, and literary portrayals of the following global issues: poverty, global warming, and social justice by showcasing research-based student responses to these issues. In addition, this session will propose additional research-based multi-genre/multimedia projects and curriculum that showcase what students can do to emancipate themselves from each of these issues by investing in education as social capital.
