The Global Education Summit at the International Society for Technology in Education Conference

We're days away from a free face-to-face get together at the 2012 ISTE conference for those educators and organizations who are interested in connecting and collaborating. During this fairly informal three hour event, we'll hear from those who've taken the plunge into globally connecting activities, engage in discussions to learn more, and share our ideas and questions about leveraging technology to bring the world to classrooms. Here is our flyer with more information and we would appreciate it if you could RSVP so that we can get an accurate count. We are not planning on streaming activities at this point, but perhaps a few GEC members will take on this task when we assemble on Sunday afternoon. Perhaps we can use the Global Education Conference chat feature as a backchannel to share some ideas and conversation.

If you're feeling like contributing further to this event, we're seeking participants who will in the San Diego area to give a short talk on something related to international education. This doesn't have to be a fancy presentation and we encourage you to re-purpose slides that you already may have. Share a project that you've created with your classroom, talk about an aha moment when you realized it's small world, show pictures of your world travels.... anything that has even a tangential global theme is welcome. Sign up here if you'd like to participate. For further details, please RSVP in the Global Education Conference Community and read details about the event in our Global Education Wiki.

Also, if you see something in the ISTE program that indicates this event is full, please ignore this as we are NOT full. The more, the merrier!  Please also note that you do not need to be a registered ISTE attendee to come to our summit. It will be held in Room 5 of the San Diego Convention Center, and all you need to do is show up at 2 PM Pacific Time!
