Full Session Description (as long as you would like): This is a panel discussion that will be led by Jan Zanetis. The panel will consist of 3 educators representing different age groups and locations, Each cover a different grade level and focus of interest but all use powerful web-based tools that allow their students to interact with others in real time. Come see how they accomplish miracles!
Objectives addressed include:
For Students: Global Collaborator
- Students use digital tools to connect with learners from a variety of backgrounds and cultures, engaging with them in ways that broaden mutual understanding and learning.
- Students use collaborative technologies to work with others across the world, including peers, experts or community members, to examine issues and problems from multiple viewpoints.
Digital Citizen
- Students engage in positive, safe, legal and ethical behavior when using technology, including social interactions online or when using networked devices.
Attendees will learn how each of the panelists finds interesting partners, experts and classrooms to connect their students to for a face to face conversation. We will review the various social media tools they use to find partners as well as to celebrate their projects. We will learn about various communication technologies that these educators use to connect to others. Attendees will gain the knowledge and tools they need to begin their own global collaborative projects around areas of current events, world issues and cultural exchange.

There needs to be some reference to globally connected teaching and learning and/or global collaboration. Also, I assume you guys will be taking disparate time zones of group presentations into consideration? I think around 5 or 6 pm ET works for my guy in Italy.
