Now in its fourth year, the GCC is an innovative, online, graduate-level program designed to increase the number of K-16 teachers who are able to teach for global competence and effectively prepare students to be globally informed, engaged citizens.

Human Rights and Global Competency will briefly trace the rise of human rights discourse, help to understand where human rights fit in amongst other realms of international law, explore efforts to promote human rights, and examine issues and forces that tend to weaken or contravene human rights. If you’re looking to increase your knowledge on human rights and creating just and inclusive classroom practices, enroll in the upcoming course which runs January 8 through March 4.
Courses last for 8 weeks and participants should be prepared to devote approximately 6 hours per credit course per week to synchronous and asynchronous coursework. There are 4-6 synchronous class meetings during each 8-week course and these meetings generally are scheduled for 1.5 hours on weeknights between 6pm and 10pm Eastern time.
