I work at Pt England Primary school in Auckland, New Zealand. Our students are aged 5-12 years of age. Every term our whole school works together on a learning Inquiry. This term it is called 'Active Earth' and we are learning about volcanoes and earthquaked.
We would love to chat or video conference with anyone around the world who lives near a volcano (or have in the past). Or anyone who has experienced an earthquake.
We can use Skype, iChat or IP Video to connect.
While talking to other kids is great, we are just as happy to speak with adults - particularly because the international timezones and the northern hemisphere school holidays may be a barrier to us connecting with other kids.
We have targetted the two weeks from June 7 to June 17th to make connections around the world.
Please let me know if you are available and I will set up a mutually convenient time, and technology to use.
We are also open to asynchronous connection if anyone would like to record a short video and post it online for us.
Hoping to get lots of responses!!!
Ka kite (see you soon)
Dorothy
