Please note that these events are sponsored by individual entities and are posted as a courtesy to GEC members. We do not provide funding for travel to any event that takes place in a physical location. 

• May 22 -  Share and Tell with the GEC via Google+ Hangouts on Air
  • This is an informal opportunity for GEC members to get to know one another. With this event, we will be discussing how to build your global professional learning network. This Hangout on Air will be recorded and available to those who are unable to attend. 
• May 29 - NYC Global Education Forum at Avenues the World School (New York City)
  • This event is sponsored by UClass and the Asia Society. Wendy Kopp of Teach for America is keynoting, and various educators, including Lucy Gray of the GEC and Brandon Wiley of the Asia Society, will be speaking on a panel.
• May - June -  Various online courses through TakingITGlobal
  • Long time friend of the GEC TakingITGlobal is holding several online course for educators. Check out their site for dates and pricing.
• June 20 - 21 Flatclassroom Project® Workshop 2013 (San Antonio, TX)
  • Vicki Davis and Julie Lindsay (a member of the GEC leadership team)  will be holding a hands-on workshop at the International School of the Americas immediately preceding the International Society for Technology in Education Conference. They will also be holding a similar workshop in July at the Punahou School in Hawaii.

• June 23 -  GEC Summit at the International Society for Technology in Education Conference (San Antonio, TX)
  • ISTE has generously offered us space again for a face-to-face meeting on Sunday, June 23rd. Come pitch your global project or initiative during this three hour meeting. Or, come with a project idea and develop it with teachers you meet at this event. The ISTE opening keynote address and global showcase will follow this summit. 
• June 27-29 6th Annual Partnership for Global Learning Conference
  • This highly recommended Asia Society conference takes place over the course of several days in New York City. Linda Darling-Hammond is the keynote speaker. 
• July 10 - 11 InnovatED Conference at Avenues the World School
  • Avenues the World School is holding a small conference focused on innovative uses of technology and global collaboration in New York City. Lucy Gray and Jennie Magiera are keynotes; registration is limited. 

2013 Conference News

Our official main conference will take place online during International Education Week (November 18 - 23). Steve Hargadon and I are preparing to launch the call for proposals in the next month or so. If you are interested in serving on the International Advisory Board, please make sure to join this group and follow the instructions posted there. Stay tuned for more details!
