The One-Heart Anti-Bullying project is an evolving online course that provides a pathway to global leadership for students and teachers. The One Heart project engages students in critical conversations about bullying using interviews from actual teens facing bullying situations in their school.
Learners share their personal stories in various formats, propose ways to improve community awareness and reach out to the global community for collaboration on solutions. An interactive study guide helps teachers facilitate critical conversations in classrooms and beyond. The program encourages teens to be leaders for social change and urges them to Always Ask for Help. This session will explore the steps taken to design this evolving concept to engage students and support teachers on the path to understanding the issues. The course is designed with effective Oral, Reading, Writing and Media Literacy strategies in mind.
One Heart seeks to engage students in critical conversations about bullying. Dynamic interactive interviews and various multimedia web 2.0 tools provide the material for discussion. Teachers utilize interactive study guides to facilitate meaningful conversations and explore strategies to discuss bullying in the school and beyond. This program starts the conversation in classrooms, promotes awareness and global collaboration while supporting teachers with differentiated approaches to learning.
