Full Session Description (as long as you would like):
How can we provide our new teachers with the resources, skill sets and opportunities to support their own learning and to enable them to engage their students in authentic, global communities of practice?
In this session graduate students and the course facilitator will share how we’ve engaged with peers within, across and beyond institutional boundaries through the use of an open, blended course (face-to-face and online) and various collaborative environments in order to discover, evaluate and integrate online social networks for use in teaching and learning. Together, we will explore how you can use the creative-commons licensed course components and open educational resources such as wikis, blogs, and live, interactive broadcasting to support your own global teaching and learning communities.

An interesting topic and close to my heart as I am working on a project like that. I would like to connect with you and learn from your best practices if possible.
Thanks,
Najwa
And I think hearing from some of our pre-service teachers who took the course and will be co-presenting with me will be really helpful. We would like to present on November 15 at 4 p.m. EST so I hope that is a good time for you.
Best,
Barbara
