Full Session Description (as long as you would like):
This presentation will explore free tools and techniques for students to create their own computer programs. Instead of playing games, students create their own games. Programming allows student to apply mathematical concepts such as coordinates, variables and functions. It also promotes higher-level thinking and problems solving. The programming skills learned in junior high will also help students as they enter the job market. Despite the global economic slowdown, programming skills are still in high demand.
Further, programing skills allow students to "write their own ticket" and express themselves on ways not seen before.
