Short Session Description
Let's discuss an Adventure Learning project with virtual classroom, solution focus and global participation - exploring sustainability through the stories of everyday things in everyday people's lives.

Full Session Description
Ride To Learn is a global citizenship and environmental sustainability learning program that engages young people with stories about the origins of everyday things, and the diverse communities around the world that are involved in making them.

Far from presenting facts to be memorized or values to be reified, Ride To Learn encourages participants to acquire knowledge they deem relevant to the task of addressing the real-life challenges they encounter while learning about the people and places the program’s explorers connect with along the World By Cycle expedition route.

The program includes seven units with teacher resources and activities that are engaging, thought-provoking, learner-driven, and humanely actionable. The unit materials provide students opportunity to participate in solution-focused brainstorming; to take initiative and do research in their own communities; and to collaborate with students near and far on issues of shared concern.

Over the past six months, the World By Cycle explorers have cycled in sixteen countries, captured eleven key interviews, and connected with hundreds of individuals and organizations along the way.

They are keen to step off the pedals and share with you their ideas on the project and would be overjoyed to receive feedback, questions and recommendations to increase program success in fostering solutions.
